After she retired from teaching in 2002, Sheila was finally able to devote time to her favorite pastime, writing. Her first attempt was too stilted. One day, two wacky characters popped into her head: Dottie Flowers, a glamorous divorcee who enjoys the finer things of life and has a passion for Harley-Davidson motors bikes, and Mabel Scattergood, a rich widow who drives too fast and eats too many Boston Cream donuts. She had found her voice, and the Dottie Flowers mystery caper book series was born.
When she isn't writing, she's usually in the garden, walking in the neighborhood, or entertaining. In the winter, she and her husband Ted drive to Hilton Head Island and enjoy cycling along the miles of bike paths, watching dolphins play in the ocean, and meeting friends for dinner.
